Job Description

My Devon based client is a source of local news in, sport, arts & entertainment, property and business. They seek an Advertising Sales Executive to join the team and, maximise the advertising revenue across all digital platforms and other revenue streams.

You must have a proven track record in display advertising sales, not be afraid to cold call or prospect, be target driven, appreciate the needs of the company first and not follow your own agenda, understand the basics of advertising copy requirements        (an appreciation of ad design would be useful too) and be able to work to deadlines – sometimes under pressure.

Role Requirements

  • Persuading clients to buy advertising space
  • Finding out who controls the advertising budget in target organisations and contacting them
  • Explaining the benefits of your medium, using statistics on readership or viewing figures
  • Offering a price and negotiating around it
  • Closing the deal and recording the details

You must have:

  • Communication skills
  • A good telephone manner
  • Persuasive ability
  • Confidence and an outgoing personality
  • The ability to build relationships with customers
  • Diplomacy and patience
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet targets
  • Be good with numbers
  • 2 years experience in Advertising Sales
